Here is a location that’s the very essence of classy, discreet dining. With little fanfare, Johan Schroven has earned his reputation the hard way, and is now established as one of Belgium’s leading chefs. If we told you that he learned his art on the job, you might not believe us. But, if you take a look at his CV, perhaps you would understand. Just think what Johan must have learned in kitchens such as those of Roger Souvereyns in the now-closed Scholteshof, Alain Ducasse in the Louis XV, Monaco, Michel Guérard in Prés d’Eugénie at Eugénie les Bains or Philippe Rochat in Hôtel de Ville in Crissier, Switzerland.
Difficult, you would surely agree, to find a better education? Upon settling down with his beautiful French wife Guilaine in the Antwerp countryside, success came quickly, as the talent of the young couple found its reward. Today, in their classy, beautifully decorated rustic restaurant, they offer delightful cuisine with an emphasis on the south, combined with high-class service and an excellent price-pleasure ratio. A joyful discovery.
